Background Biography
Art Abdon (Arthur S. Abdon) was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. He grew up all over the United States following his military dad, but calls Maryland and Washington, DC his home (aka the DMV).

He has been drawing since he was a little boy but didn’t make artist as a professional career until later in life. Art joined the military right out of high school. He started as a “Seabee” in the US Navy and later transferred to the US Army to become an admin specialist and later a Chaplain Assistant. Met his wife, Jerrie, while in Okinawa, Japan, they got married and had their first daughter. While still in the military, Art always drew and kept his art skills up. Created and designed may products for his units and commanders. He received recognition and awards for all the extra work he added to the military community.
He is now a retired veteran from the Armed Forces, serving for over 23 years. Art considers himself a Professional Artist since retiring in 2014.
Art the Artist is the CEO and founder of Art the Artist Studios. He is excited to be working on his business at “theClubhou.se” in downtown Augusta in the Georgia Cyber Center Building. He recently completed the program called “StartUp Life”, an entrepreneurship program, created to help small businesses develop and grow into a sustainable business and to give back to the community.
While at theClubhou.se, Art the Artist is building & developing an arts and technology enrichment program (ASAP) to teach after school children how to draw using comic book format. He uses traditional art and digital means to teach the children all aspects of art. He calls these classes “I am a SuperHero Too!” because this helps build self-confidence. At the end of the program these children will have their very own comic book to present to their parents, schools, and friends.
Art was very excited to launch his vision in the school system the fall of 2018. He continues to create and show his original art pieces around town and online.
Art the Artist Studios is located in downtown Augusta, Ga and also works in & around the CSRA (Central Savannah River Area).

Arthur: I like to draw and paint in front of a live audience. I like to “live” paint at a number of different venues such as jazz night, spoken word, and the old school hip-hop events.
